Birth Injury Claims Team

Birth injury cases can be extremely complex; however, our specialist team are able to assess the injuries suffered from medical records and CTG traces, pinpointing the time when things may have started to go wrong and identifying the action that was, or in many cases wasn’t, taken. We are experienced in building a strong claim to ensure appropriate compensation is awarded, thus improving a child’s quality of life and obtaining security for the entire family.

We believe that our responsibility extends beyond simply winning a claim for our client. Our team work closely with skilled and caring rehabilitation specialists to ensure that the best possible care can be provided for as long as it is needed. We always try to secure interim payments so rehabilitation or treatment can start as soon as possible and does not have to wait until the end of a case.

Understanding, Empathy and Professionalism

We appreciate that the circumstances and consequences of your injuries are stressful enough without the worry of choosing a specialist solicitor and wondering what making a claim and dealing with Courts might involve. For this reason we are determined to treat each and every one of our medical negligence clients as an individual, with the understanding, empathy and professionalism they deserve.

We recognise that you may have already lost faith in one profession, doctors, and will do all that we can to build and maintain your faith in us as your solicitors.

For further information please see Frequently Asked Questions about Clinical Negligence Claims. We do not charge for dealing with initial enquiries even if we do not take the claim on. This way you can be safe in the knowledge that you can receive expert legal advice about your complaint without committing to any obligations regarding fees. If we consider that you have a claim which is likely to be successful then we can offer you a “no win no fee” agreement.

If you would like to discuss a potential birth injury claim please contact us on 01273 249200 for a free, no obligation discussion.

Cerebral Palsy

Experts in Compensation Claims Services

Cerebral Palsy can often be caused by medical negligence during birth.

This can come because of several possible issues such as a difficult birth which has caused injury to a baby or underlying infections or issues with your baby that were not identified during the pregnancy that should have been.

Frequently Asked Questions

Medical Negligence

Birth Injuries are claims for either a child or their parents who suffer a traumatic birth that results in injury to either the parent or child. Injuries can be both physical and psychological. Usually for children, birth injuries sadly mean a brain injury (such as cerebral palsy) has occurred, or other physical injuries. For a mother, this could be physical harm or psychological injury as a result of a negligent birth. Other parents may also have a claim if they witness the traumatic birth.

Birth injuries can occur in a number of ways however, the most common is usually due to a delay in recognising that a baby is in distress during labour which results in the baby being deprived of oxygen and suffering a brain injury. Other issues such as poor delivery technique that result in harm to the baby or mother, or failure to recognise issues just after birth in the neonatal period can also lead to possible birth injury claims.
