Individual
Our team at Dean Wilson LLP, led by Claire Glasgow, has extensive experience representing victims of sexual assault in both civil and criminal proceedings, including high-profile cases involving well-known individuals in film, television, sport, finance and business.
We understand how difficult it is to speak about sexual assault, particularly where the accused is prominent or powerful. Our approach is always to listen first. Any initial conversation with us is completely confidential and without obligation. Victims of sexual assault and rape are granted automatic lifelong anonymity in the reporting of both criminal and civil cases.
Sexual assault and rape are criminal offences and should be reported to the police. It is also possible to pursue a civil claim for personal injury (including psychological damage) against the perpetrator, or against an employer where the assault took place at work. We believe no one is above the law, and that only by challenging this behaviour will meaningful change happen.
We will always be honest with you about the viability of a claim. Where a perpetrator lacks sufficient funds, a personal injury claim may not be possible, and we will instead explore compensation through CICA (Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority), a government-funded body that compensates victims of violent crime.
Our team has a strong track record in cases involving high-net-worth and high-profile defendants. Claire Glasgow is highly experienced in this area, having acted in cases involving individuals in the entertainment industry, finance, and sport. The team works sensitively and discreetly to prepare claims where appropriate, always putting clients first.
We are regularly instructed in cases where public profile and media interest make specialist, discreet handling essential. We are also experienced in working with the press where our clients wish to speak out, and in protecting the anonymity of those who do not.
