Personal Injury
Spinal Injuries are often serious and life changing and have an impact upon the injured and their family members. Living and learning to cope with the effects of a spinal injury can be a devastating reality.
We act for clients who have suffered either complete spinal cord injuries (resulting in quadriplegia or paraplegia) or incomplete spinal injuries where the extent of the injury depends on impact point on the spinal cord. In many cases, our clients may have limited mobility or they may be wholly confined to a wheelchair and some require a ventilator to assist them with breathing. We also act for clients who have suffered a wide range of back or neck injuries.
With spinal injury it is crucial to secure early access to rehabilitation services to ensure that as full a recovery as possible is made. Our contact with providers means that we already have relationships with the people or organisations that provide these services. Our relationships built with rehabilitation providers over a number of years ensure that the appropriate support can be put in place as soon as possible.
It is possible to obtain some of your compensation early in order to fund rehabilitation. We are very experienced in obtaining these payments and have a high success ratio for our clients. It is not uncommon for us to secure an interim payment to put a case manager in place within a week of us taking on the case. Our case handlers are sympathetic and understanding of their client’s needs but will also have the necessary fight to ensure that their claim is settled for the maximum level of damages possible.

Due to the complex and variable needs of a person who has suffered a spinal injury, it is important to select a solicitor who is a specialist in this area of law. As a result of our excellent reputation in the industry, treating practitioners often refer to us catastrophically injured clients who are not satisfied with the way their solicitor is handling their claim. You have a right to change solicitor should you wish and we can talk you through this process.
We do not charge for dealing with initial enquiries even if we do not take the claim on. This way you can be safe in the knowledge that you can receive expert legal advice about your accident without committing to any obligations regarding fees. If we consider that you have a claim which is likely to be successful then we can offer you a “no win no fee” agreement.
If you would like to discuss a potential spinal injury claim please contact us on 01273 249200 for a free no obligation discussion. We are happy to visit seriously injured clients at home or in hospital.
If you win your spinal injury claim and set up a “no win no fee” agreement with us, then part of your compensation will cover this, but more importantly, your compensation can cover your fund, your rehabilitation and any disability equipment you will need for your everyday life. Any claim must be commenced in the courts within 3 years of the date the accident occurred. For example, if your accident happened on the 1st January 2020, you must have started your claim in the courts no later than 31st December 2023, otherwise, you are barred in law from bringing a claim (unless you were under 18 at the time of your accident, then you have until your 21st Birthday). If your accident was a result of medical negligence, there are some exceptions to this rule so please do take legal advice as soon as possible. See more personal injury FAQ’s here.
