Fatal Accident

Losing a loved one is very difficult and highly traumatic. It is far worse when that loss is caused by a fatal accident that should never have happened. Families are left with financial insecurity and worries about care at a time of serious emotional trauma.

Do I qualify for a fatal accident claim?

Fatal accident claim

If you were financially dependent on or related to the deceased then you may be able to claim for:

  • Loss of financial support;
  • Loss of other types of support such as childcare or household duties; and
  • Loss of other benefits such as pension rights.
  • You may also be entitled to bereavement damages.

If it can be shown that a loved one suffered any pain or distress before death, a claim for their suffering and any financial losses arising from these injuries can be made. You can also recover funeral expenses.

No financial settlement can replace a loved one. However, if the deceased has left behind a spouse, child, or anyone else who was financially dependent on them, it is important to ensure that their needs are properly catered for.

Our specialist team are caring, compassionate and dedicated to ensuring that compensation is maximised in order to allow the most stable future possible for families who have lost a loved one as a result of a fatal injury. We will act for you in any inquest if appropriate and will ensure that you are properly supported during this difficult period. It is important that you have proper legal representation at any inquest so as to ensure that any information that may help the claim is made available.
