02 Feb 2025

Sussex Police Constable Tim Bradshaw appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on 3 November 2022 charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail.

The weeklong trial will be heard at Portsmouth Crown Court on 3 February 2025.

On the evening of 3 November 2022 a police car driven by PC Tim Bradshaw struck an e-bike and rider on Hawthorn Road, Bognor Regis. The rider suffered a fractured knee and a broken thighbone.

After PC Bradshaw was charged Sussex Police said in a statement: “The matter was referred to the Independent Office of Police Conduct, who directed that a local investigation by Sussex Police should be conducted. The force will consider misconduct proceedings once the criminal proceedings have concluded.”

The personal injury team at Dean Wilson Solicitors are pursuing a claim for compensation on behalf of the rider injured in the incident.
