Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital fertility errors means frozen eggs may no longer be viable

27 Feb 2024

Dean Wilson Solicitors are looking to speak to patients who have been affected by errors at the assisted contraception unit at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospital. As reported in The Times on Tuesday 13 February 2024, 136 patients are believed to be affected.

The affected women have been written to and told that the eggs or embryos may not survive the thaw process and cannot be used for IVF or surrogacy in the future. Additionally, there appear to have been delays in notifying patients of the problems. This will be difficult news for those affected who now may have lost the opportunity to have a family or expand their families and they may be entitled to bring legal action.

Contact our team if you have been affected by this error

We are experienced group action solicitors and have previously successfully negotiated compensation schemes following NHS errors.

We would be keen to speak to anyone affected to see if we can assist in these difficult times. Our dedicated team can be contacted confidentially on 01273 249200, or group action lawyer Ben Davey can be reached at bd@deanwilson.co.uk
