Cybersecurity incidents are increasingly common, and we know the legal sector is a particular target. With that in mind we encourage our clients to be vigilant for phishing emails or messages. These spoof emails might claim to be from our firm and may be related to legitimate transactions – but they’re sent from email addresses that contain subtle misspellings or inaccuracies. In particular, look out for emails that don’t feel quite right which might contain grammatical errors or ask you to do something out of the ordinary like open an attachment or download a file. As a reminder, we will never ask you to update or change our bank details via email. If you receive a suspicious message, you can always call us on 01273 249200 to confirm whether it is legitimate before responding or following any instructions.
