Paralegal

Salary: £28,000

We’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Paralegal to join our highly regarded Court of Protection team at our Brighton & Hove office. This is a dynamic role combining fee-earning responsibilities with administrative support. You’ll be working closely with senior team members to deliver exceptional client service and contribute to the strategic goals of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

These will include but not limited to:- 

  • Supporting the Senior Paralegal and Executive with fee-earning tasks
  • Managing WIP, time recording, and billing to a high standard
  • Communicating directly with clients, families, carers, and professionals via phone, email, and in person
  • Managing client affairs including HMRC, insurance, benefits, and invoices
  • Preparing and maintaining legal documents and records in line with firm procedures
  • Handling initial client enquiries and directing them appropriately
  • Conducting legal research
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual billing figures
  • Drafting routine correspondence independently
  • Obtaining quotes for services and liaising with external providers
  • Budgeting and account reconciliation for clients
  • Attending marketing events to promote the department and firm
  • Performing other reasonable duties as required

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Previous experience in a legal or similar professional environment (essential)
  • A law degree (desirable but not essential)
  • A genuine interest in a legal career and the Court of Protection field
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure in a busy team
  • A proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative approach
  • Empathy and patience
  • Be able to manage the needs/demands of clients with brain injuries and/or other life changing injuries
