IT Service Desk Technician
Location: Brighton, East Sussex
Contract: 6 Month Fixed contract, Office-based role
Salary: £30,000 to £32,000 DOE
Dean Wilson is a well-established and respected legal practice, seeking a proactive and customer focused IT Service Desk Technician to join our IT team, providing essential technical support to our staff and helping ensure the smooth operation of our systems.
This is a fully office-based role and would suit someone who enjoys hands on support in a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
These will include but not limited to:-
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues relating to Microsoft Office 365, Windows operating systems, and IP networking.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software applications.
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and management of user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Monitor, manage, and update IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and a high standard of customer service.
- Perform regular system updates and patches to maintain system performance, reliability, and security.
- Offer clear technical guidance to users, helping them confidently use IT systems and applications.
- Accurately document support activities, resolutions, and processes within the IT ticketing system.
- Work closely with other members of the IT team to share knowledge and ensure consistent support delivery.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practice to help improve IT services.
About You
- Proven experience working in a 1st / 2nd line IT support role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows OS, and basic IP networking.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A professional, customer focused approach with a commitment to delivering high quality support.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
