Senior Legal Assistant - Lease Extension & Freehold Enfranchisement Team

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum DOE 

Due to continued growth within our specialist Lease Extension and Freehold Enfranchisement team, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to support our busy practice on a full-time basis. This team sits within the wider Dispute Resolution department and handles a high volume of work relating to statutory and voluntary lease extensions, collective freehold enfranchisement and associated property documentation. 

 The ideal candidate will be able to manage the day-to-day needs and expectations of a busy department, providing both secretarial and legal admin support.  You will need to be highly organised, possess good accuracy, numeracy and I.T. skills together with a working knowledge of work, excel, and Legal Case Management systems. Knowledge of Proclaim would be ideal but not essential, as training will be given. 

 This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in property law support or a strong interest in this technical area, to work closely with fee earners on a wide variety of procedural, administrative, and client facing tasks. 

 Key Responsibilities 

 Your role will focus on assisting with the day to day running of lease extension and enfranchisement matters, including but not limited to: 

  • Preparing and formatting documents specific to lease extension and freehold enfranchisement processes 
  • Audio typing via digital dictation 
  • Using the Land Registry Portal to obtain title documents, file applications, and monitor progress 
  • Opening new matters and ensuring AML and compliance steps are completed accurately 
  • Handling client onboarding and assisting with collecting key information 
  • Assisting with completions, arranging payments, and drafting completion statements 
  • Managing emails, taking client calls, and ensuring the smooth day to day support of fee earners 
  • Maintaining accurate billing records and assisting with invoicing 

 About You 

 We are looking for someone who is confident working in a technical and deadline driven area of property law. The ideal candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Previous experience in a law firm, ideally within property/conveyancing, real estate, or leasehold services 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work methodically across multiple ongoing matters 
  • Excellent organisational skills, with confidence managing statutory timelines 
  • Clear and professional communication skills when liaising with clients and third parties 
  • A positive, “can do” attitude and the willingness to learn a specialist area of law 
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and case management systems (Proclaim experience desirable but not essential - training provided)
