Changes in the law already

30 Sep 2015

The Assured Shorthold Tenancy Notices and Prescribed Requirements (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 come into force on 30 September 2015 and correct an error in the original version of the Regulations, specifically the drafting of the section 21 notice in the Schedule. The amended section 21 notice can be found in the Schedule to the amended Regulations and should be used to end all assured shorthold tenancies on or after 1 October 2015.

The House of Lords have now passed the Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, and these come into force on 1 October 2015 as originally planned. Please see our newsletter below for details of what landlords should be doing to comply.
